Conservation works to Footscray Town Hall loggia
Footscray Town Hall is a magnificent and rare example of American Romanesque architecture designed by Joseph Plottel in 1936, and is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. After having done a conservation management plan for the building, we then assisted Maribyrnong Council with a scope of works for a Living Heritage Program grant for repairs that will assist in reactivating the original entrance. The works included complex conservation works to the finely detailed entrance loggia, corinthian columns, glazed brickwork, buff faience and cast stonework.
For this project we:
Provided architectural conservation services
Provided a scope of works for grant and permit applications
Provided a schedule of materials and works
Inspected the work of specialist contractors
